We would like help in supporting my child at home. Additional parent workshop for core curriculum areas arranged for the Autumn and Spring terms
We would like children to make a greater contribution in the community. With COVID restrictions removed, we have been able to engage with and support the local community through inviting people to Harvest, Remembrance and Carol Services, singing at a local church group's coffee morning and sharing Christmas carols as part of Bridport Christmas Cheer.  We are also using the "Great Works" in the Harmony project as opportunities to invite parents and the community into school to celebrate children's work.  Our pupil-elected school council have also chosen a charity, Surfers Against Sewage, to support for the year.  We also invited parents into school to raise money for the Macmillan Coffee Morning and support Children In Need.  Weekly newsletters enable everyone in the school community to have a greater understanding of what has been happening in school.
We would like to know more information about what my child needs to do in order to be successful. Termly class letters shared with parents outline the aspect of the curriculum studied and include information about curriculum enrichment opportunities.  For children in year groups with statutory assessments, we hold information evenings to share assessment procedures with parents and give them guidance on how to support their child at home.  In twice yearly parents' evenings, we share clear and personalised advice on children's next steps and offer parents practical suggestions for how to support their child at home.
