Ofsted Report 2023
It is with great pride that I share with you the finalised report following our recent Ofsted inspection. This was a full inspection which evaluated the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision. I am delighted to inform you that the school has been judged as “Good” overall, with a “Good” judgement being awarded to quality of education, personal development leadership and management and early years provision. I am extremely proud that the school was awarded “Outstanding” for behaviour and attitudes.
We’re extremely happy that the hard work of our staff has been recognised, and I’m sure you will join me in congratulating everyone who works and volunteers at our school.
SIAMS Inspection 2025
Please see below our full SIAMS inspection report. The inspection was a deeply affirming experience for our school community, and I am proud to report that Salway Ash was judged to be living up to its foundation as a Church school and enabling pupils and adults to flourish. This judgement reflects the strength of our Christian vision, “Let our light shine as we achieve together,” and the way it permeates every aspect of school life.
The inspector highlighted several particularly positive aspects of our provision:
· Deeply embedded Christian vision and values that create a culture of flourishing for all.
· Highly effective leadership, with governors and staff knowing the school well and using this insight to plan meaningful improvements.
· Outstanding pastoral care, especially for vulnerable pupils and those with SEND, ensuring every child is nurtured and supported.
· Joyful and spiritually enriching collective worship, which brings peace, reflection, and a sense of community.
· Strong partnerships with families and the local church, offering effective support during challenging times.
· Empowered pupils, who take on leadership roles and respond to local and global issues with compassion and responsibility.
The report also recognised our commitment to developing spirituality through reflection, journalling, and creative responses, and praised our curriculum for being inclusive and enriching, with memorable experiences such as visits to London and Salisbury Cathedral.
As with all inspections, there are areas for development. Our next steps will include:
· Embedding recent changes to the Religious Education (RE) curriculum, to ensure pupils gain a deeper understanding of the diverse ways people of faith live and practise their beliefs.
· Continuing to prioritise professional development in RE, so that lessons offer appropriate challenge and progression for all learners.
