Year 4 Cardiff Residential
2nd May 2018
Between Wednesday 2nd and Friday 4th May, Mrs Langford, Mrs Aburrow , Mrs Bowditch and Year 4 joined children from Broadwindsor, Parrett and Axe and St.Mary's Beaminster for a residential trip to Cardiff.
They stayed in YHA Central Cardiff and enjoyed a wide variety of activities whilst forming new friendships with the children from other schools.
On the first day the children enjoyed an afternoon of science exploration at '@t Bristol' and the planetarium. There were a huge range of science based experiments and activities to take part in. The exhibits were really hands on and encouraged the children to learn exciting new facts whilst having fun.
On the second day the group managed visits to both Rhondda Heritage park, mines and reconstructed period village and Cardiff castle - a day immersed in history.
Before heading back to their respective schools the children visited Bristol Zoo. The lions proved a firm favourite. The children got a chance to handle some small animals as part of their rain forest experience.
Everyone returned home happy and exhausted.
Huge thanks to Parrett and Axe School for organising the trip this year and to all the staff who made this trip possible for the children.
