New Climbing Equipment

23rd June 2017
A very exciting day for Key Stage 2 at Salway Ash!
A few years ago, following a governors and PTA consultation with the children it was determined that the thing the children felt they wanted and needed most was a climbing frame for the older children to match the one which the PTA had provided for the reception and Key Stage 1 children. This became even more important once our old trim trail was condemned as unfit for use.
The PTA set about raising the £9500 required to provide a really great piece of equipment to challenge and entertain the older children. We, as a  school, are firm believers in encouraging physical challenge and healthy, outdoor pursuits.
Today this new frame was finally fitted and ready for use and it looks fantastic!
We are so grateful to the PTA who have spearheaded the project and to everyone who has got behind the fundraising effort with baking and dressing up, clearing jumble and taking part in quizzes, bingo nights, sleepovers, raffles.....etc. It was a great team effort and well worth ever penny and every hour!
Jacob and Fern, as the two oldest children in the school, cut the ceremonial ribbon to officially open the equipment for use.
