World Book Day

4th March 2016
We celebrated World Book day with a 'dress-up day'. Children and staff came to school dressed as a favourite book character and brought the book in which the character featured to school with them. Throughout the day the school bell rang at intervals and the children stopped what they were doing and read their chosen book for 10 minutes.

We had a wonderful variety of characters from the the more traditional Alice in Wonderland and Sherlock Holmes through to contemporary favourites from authors such as David Walliams and Andy Stanton. Harry Potter characters and Fantastic Mr Fox were particularly popular this year.
Each child received a World Book Day £1 Book token to put towards a book of their choice.
